My life in dreams

Through The Storm

on October 30, 2012

Hurricane Sandy did arrive after all and has caused some damage in the area where we live. This storm has definitely marked the climax to so many personally things that have happened to me. It is a symbol of everything I went through this year and years past. I can only be thankful that I had flashlights, water and plenty of food in the house. I am so lucky that the electric has not gone out and that the flooding has not caused any damage to my apartment or vehicles. I have mentioned this before, but it is as if  something or someone is watching over me.

I should also mention that 2012 has been a year of many challenges and things gone from bad to worse. If you do not believe, go through my posts and find the one about finding a snake in my apartment 🙂 I am happy that very soon my husband will be home to help me deal with these misfortunes.  And as I sit here listening to the strong winds from the storm, I am saying a small prayer inside of my heart for all of those families and individuals that are going through this storm under much more difficult circumstances. So many have been evacuated, left without electricity, and some have lost their vehicles from the massive flooding that is occurring.

I hope that from all of this we all learn to be more patient, and recognize each day the little things that do matter, and ignore the things that do not. I hope that we never give up on the things we want to accomplish and forget the opportunities that did not work out. That we are grateful for the life we have and how far we have come, because there is always someone who is in a worse situation. Also, I hope that we recognize that each day is a new one and a new opportunity to start over.

To all of us that are on the East Coast and weathering the storm right now: let us have a little faith and most of all be safe.

Happy Reading!!!
